ARE YOUR TOURS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

The Caribbean is a spectacular place to consider, but for wheelchair users, accessibility can be a bit hit or miss depending on which island(s) you visit specifically.

If you’ll be in Aruba, Barbados, the Bahamas, Jamaica, or Puerto Rico, for multiple days, you can arrange accessible transportation for your entire trip.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS SAFE WHILE TRAVELING

Loss or theft of important items – credit cards, travel documents or mobile devices – is an uncommon but stressful occurrence while travelling. Avoid the hassle of losing something vital by following these 8 tips for keeping your belongings safe. 1. Keep your stuff safe in a safe Many hotel chains include in-room safe deposit boxes secured with an electronic code as standard; if your hotel room has a safe, use it to stash your valuables when you head out for the day. 2. Keep cash and cards close to you It's wise to keep cash, cards and any documents such as your passport or driving license close to you when you travel – consider using a pouch or money belt worn inside your clothes. 3. Make copies of your most important documents In the event that something vital goes astray, it will be a lot easier to replace your item if you have a photocopy, scan or even a photograph on your phone. 5. Watch out for local scams Seek local advice online or in guidebooks about any known scams in the areas you're travelling to. Watch out for pickpockets operating in pairs (one distracts you as the other helps himself to the contents of your pockets); thieves posing as beggars with their hands concealed beneath a cloth or jacket; or (in very rare cases) strangers offering drugged beverages in order to make off with your stuff. Be especially alert after a night on the town – street criminals will target tourists who are the worse for wear. 6. Don't put all your electronics in one basket ...or all your cash, your cameras or your travel documents. Divide important and valuable items between your bags, and then if one goes missing you won't have lost the lot. 7. Be alert in queues Long queues full of bored people waiting to check-in or buy a train ticket are prime targets for opportunist thieves. 8. Check your insurance If it's heartbreaking to find a treasured item has been lost or stolen, imagine how much worse it would be to find that item isn't covered by your travel insurance. Check your policy before you leave, and make sure it's valid for the areas you're travelling to and includes all the items you need with you.

Is There A good Time to Travel To My Preferred Destination?

"Ahaha, great question! As your travel expert, I'm always happy to help you plan your trip to your preferred destination. You're absolutely right to consider the weather when planning your trip. I always recommend checking the historical weather patterns for your destination to get a sense of what to expect. This can help you make an informed decision about the best time to travel. For [United States Virgin Islands], I've checked the historical weather reports, and it looks like [Due to its geographical location in the center of the Caribbean, the USVI has two distinct seasons—the hurricane (wet) season from August to November and the dry season for the remainder of the year. Typically, about 40% of the annual rainfall occurs in the 3 wettest months, from September to November. Typical of many tropical islands, easternmost and leeward areas have the greatest aridity and sometimes feature vegetation (e.g., cacti) and landscapes (e.g., lack of trees) more typical of tropical dry forest and grasslands than a tropical rainforest.] The tourism score favors clear, rainless days with perceived temperatures between 65°F and 80°F. Based on this score, the best time of year to visit U.S. Virgin Islands for general outdoor tourist activities is from late December to late March, with a peak score in the third week of January. Based on this information, This way, you can avoid any potential weather-related issues and enjoy the best conditions for your trip. Of course, if you have a specific preference for when you'd like to travel, I can work with you to make it happen. Just let me know what you're thinking!

Can I Get A Better Deal If I Plan everything Myself or Use a Travel Agent?

At Key Up Getaways, we understand that it's tempting to try to save a few bucks by booking everything yourself. However, we've found that working with a travel agent like us can actually save you time, hassle, and potentially even money in the long run. One of the biggest benefits of working with a travel agent is that we're experts in the industry and have seen countless policies and terms and conditions. We know exactly what to look out for, and we can help you avoid any potential pitfalls. For example, did you know that some flights or hotels may have hidden fees or restrictions that aren't immediately apparent when booking online? As your travel agent, I can make sure you're aware of these details before you make your purchase, so you can avoid any surprises down the line. Additionally, when you work with a travel agent, we can often negotiate with suppliers on your behalf to get you the best possible deal. We have established relationships with many hotels, airlines, and tour operators, which means we can get access to exclusive rates and promotions that might not be available to the general public. That being said, if you do choose to book everything yourself, just make sure to carefully review the cancellation policies and terms and conditions for each item. It's easy to overlook important details like these, which can end up costing you more in the long run. So, should you book everything yourself or use a travel agent? Well, if you value your time and want to avoid any potential stress or surprises during your trip, I'd highly recommend working with an agent like me. But if you're comfortable reading through all those fine print details yourself and don't mind negotiating with suppliers directly, then booking everything yourself might be the way to go.

Do you charge a fee for your services?

We believe in providing our clients with personalized service and expert knowledge to help plan their dream vacations. As a travel agency, we do charge a planning fee for our services. However, we strive to make it as affordable as possible. Our standard planning fee is 15% of the total booking value, which includes all travel arrangements, excursions, and other inclusions. This fee is waived if your booking reaches a minimum value of $2,000. If you've reached out to us outside of Avoya (for example, through social media or an online advertisement), we charge a $50 research and planning fee for creating a customized proposal with adjustments. This fee is non-negotiable and covers the time and effort required to research and tailor-make your travel plans.

Do you always add Travel Insurance or can I decline it?

As your travel expert, I always recommend considering travel insurance as an essential part of your travel planning. In today's fast-paced world, unexpected events can arise, and having the right insurance coverage can provide you with peace of mind and financial protection. At Avoya Travel, we partner with reputable insurance providers like Allianz and Trip Mate to offer a range of travel insurance options. These policies can help protect you against unexpected events such as trip cancellations or interruptions due to medical reasons, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances. As a general rule, I would recommend purchasing travel insurance for any trip, especially if you're traveling abroad or to remote destinations. This way, you'll be prepared for any unexpected situations that may arise. However, it's ultimately up to you to decide whether or not to purchase travel insurance. If you do choose to decline the insurance, please be aware that you will be responsible for any losses or expenses incurred due to unforeseen events. That being said, if you do decide to purchase travel insurance, I can guide you through the process and help you choose the right policy for your needs. I recommend reviewing the policy details and understanding what is covered and what is not.

Is it Better to go on a trip with a travel agent or privately?

As a travel agent at Key Up Getaways, I've had the pleasure of planning countless trips for my clients, but I must admit that I don't have personal experience with traveling with guests myself. However, based on our expertise and experience in the industry, I can give you some insights on the pros and cons of each option. Going on a trip with a travel agent: Pros: Having a professional guide with you throughout your trip can be incredibly valuable, especially if you're traveling to a new and unfamiliar destination. We can provide insider knowledge and tips, help you navigate any unexpected situations, and even assist with any last-minute changes or issues that may arise. Cons: Some travelers might prefer having more independence and freedom to create their own itinerary and make changes on the fly. Additionally, having a travel agent along might add an extra layer of structure to your trip. Going privately: Pros: Traveling independently allows for complete flexibility and freedom to do what you want, when you want. You can make spontaneous changes to your itinerary, explore off-the-beaten-path destinations, and enjoy more alone time if that's what you prefer. Cons: Without a professional guide, you might miss out on valuable insider knowledge and insights about the destination. You'll also need to handle any issues or problems that arise on your own, which can be stressful. Ultimately, whether it's better to go on a trip with a travel agent or privately depends on your personal preferences and what type of travel experience you're looking for. If you value having a personalized guide and expert assistance throughout your trip, working with a travel agent might be the way to go. On the other hand, if you prefer the freedom to create your own itinerary and make spontaneous changes, traveling privately might be the better option for you. What do you think? Are you leaning towards having a travel agent guide your next adventure or striking out on your own?" Connect with me and lets discuss.
